Music and Looping, by Richard Einhorn.

A composer loses all hearing suddenly in one ear, with 30% loss in the other. And the Kennedy Center Opera House, which had a temporary looping system in place, allowed him to once again enjoy the music. He is now encouraging the Kennedy Center to install permanent Looping systems.

If you, or a friend, have dropped out of social gatherings because you cannot hear well enough, there is hope! A device by "Telecoil", can make it possible for the Hard of Hearing to hear with better clarity. Please see the above PDF file.

Volunteers needed

  • A Volunteer for Let's Loop Tucson project.
  • A typist for our peer support meetings on Tuesdays from 1 - 2 PM. The text is projected onto a screen as assistance to recent deaf.
  • Office volunteer to answer the phone, do copying, filing and other tasks.
  • Volunteer grant writer. Would work with the treasurer and board members.

Wishlist:

  • Donations of equipment, furnishings or money are always needed, and are really appreciated!
  • A Copier
  • 4 six foot conference room tables (new or like new)
  • Used hearing aids for the Hearing Aid Bank
  • New or used assistive devices for hard of hearing people
  • New carpeting plus installation
